2026年春季，伦敦将成为古典音乐界的活力中心，届时，享有盛誉的皇家音乐学院将举办首届古典大提琴国际比赛。从3月26日至4月6日，在欧洲最负盛名的音乐学府之一——皇家音乐学院的庄严殿堂中，传承数百年的经典曲目将与大胆创新的当代作品交相辉映，为来自世界各地的40位崭露头角的大提琴新秀提供一个无与伦比的舞台，参赛选手将角逐超过13万欧元的奖金，其中包括5万欧元的头奖。

London will become the vibrant centre of the classical music world this spring 2026 as the prestigious Royal College of Music plays host to the inaugural Classic Cello International Competition. From the 26th of March to the 6th of April, centuries-old repertoire will meet bold contemporary works within the hallowed halls of one of Europe’s most esteemed musical institutions, offering an unparalleled platform for 40 emerging cellists gathered together from all over the world.
With the RCM’s storied concert venues providing the ideal backdrop for a competition distinguished by its musical diversity and rigor, contestants will be asked to present a wide variety of works from across the spectrum of classical music, starting with a selection of pieces from J. S. Bach, George Crumb, Paul Hindemith, and Alfredo Piatti for the preselection phase.
Led by Artistic Director Alexander Chaushian and President Konstantin Ishkhanov, the competition will welcome the following 40 musicians for eleven days, to be covered by The Violin Channel as an official media partner.

The competition will culminate in a Final Round with London's Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Tomàs Grau.
In addition to the main prizes, participants will be eligible for a range of prestigious special awards offered by the competition’s distinguished partners and Official Sponsors, including:
A two-year professional cello loan from the Florian Leonhard Fellowship;
A NOK 30,000 prize from Talent Norge;
Substantial prize support from Larsen Strings, including their new cello set for the top three laureates, personalised workshops with Dr Thomas Zwieg for the top two winners, and a one-year supply of strings for the Winner, along with “Larsen Friend” status.
