The organizing committee of the 2026 International Eugène Ysaÿe Violin Competition in Belgium officially announced the list of finalists today, along with the highly anticipated schedule for the remaining rounds. After fierce preliminary and semi-final competitions, the young violin elites from around the world have been determined. Among them, the collective performance of Chinese contestants was particularly outstanding, securing a dominant number of spots in the semi-finals and becoming the most anticipated focus of the first half of the competition.

 

According to the schedule, the semi-finals will be held from February 15th to 18th, 2026, in Visé, a renowned cultural city in Belgium. Following this, after months of preparation, the grand finale will be held from July 6th to 12th, 2026, at the Icheon Art Center in South Korea. This transcontinental competition design not only reflects the international scope of the competition but also provides contestants with invaluable opportunities to showcase their artistic depth on diverse cultural stages.

 

In the first announced list of semi-finalists, young Chinese performers showcased an astonishing overall strength.
